APREA Membership Categories Print E-mail

Membership of the Association consists of:

Full Members

(a) Full Members are entities (corporate bodies or trusts) which are of a type set out in paragraph (b) below and whose applications for membership have been approved by the Board of Directors.
(b) The following types of entities are able to apply for Full Membership:
  (1) Real estate companies or trusts fulfilling both of the following conditions:
i.the primary business of the entity is the ownership, trading, development, operation or financing of income producing real estate; and
ii.the entity actively carries on business in Asia. 
  (2) Asset managers of real estate companies and real estate trusts/funds that satisfy paragraph (b)(1) above; 
  (3) Institutional investors, including insurance companies, life assurance companies, investment fund managers and other institutions (but not including pension funds as defined below); and  
  (4) Banks and stockbrokers involved in writing research pertaining to the property industry, underwriting equity offerings or making markets in the shares or units of Asian public real estate companies or trusts.   

Associate Members

Any entity that is not eligible to apply to be a Full member, Pension Fund member, Government Authority member or Academic member but which has an interest in the Asian public real estate sector may apply to become an Associate member and, subject to approval of the Board of Directors, shall be entitled to such membership rights as the Board of Directors may determine from time to time.

 

Pension Fund Members

Any entity that is a fund launched to meet pension plan requirements, an endowment fund or a foundation fund (and not an intermediary of such a fund), is not-for-profit and is approved as such and meets such other requirements as may be set by the Board of Directors, may apply to become a Pension Fund member and, subject to approval of the Board of Directors, shall be entitled to such membership rights as the Board of Directors may determine from time to time.



Government Authority Members

Any entity that is a department, ministry, administrative unit or other public body established by a government and meets such other requirements as may be set by the Board of Directors may apply to become a Government Authority member and subject to approval of the Management Board shall be entitled to such membership rights as the Board of Directors may determine from time to time.



Academic Members

Any academic institution involved with the real estate sector may apply to be an Academic member and, subject to approval of the Board of Directors, shall be entitled such membership rights as the Board of Directors may determine from time to time.
