Singapore – 1 November 2023. The Asia Pacific Real Assets Association (APREA) is proud to announce the release of the APREA ESG Reporting Playbook, a pioneering resource designed for companies to navigate ESG reporting in the real assets industry.
The first of its kind for the real assets industry in the Asia Pacific, the APREA ESG Reporting Playbook offers a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to ESG integration and reporting practices, helping organisations at every stage of their ESG journey. It provides a comprehensive overview of ESG reporting and its tangible benefits, especially on how reporting can unlock value in real assets.
“In the dynamic landscape of the Asia Pacific region with increased awareness of climate change, ESG reporting takes on heightened significance as it is the compass that guides organisations toward a future where profitability and sustainability go hand in hand. The APREA ESG Reporting Playbook thus serves as a valuable tool to ensure that the real assets industry is well-prepared to thrive and achieve sustainable growth,” says John Lim, Chairman of APREA.
Topics covered in the APREA ESG Reporting Playbook include ESG drivers that enable value enhancement, general principles for effective disclosures, reporting considerations, common reporting frameworks, specific requirements framework, and the future of ESG reporting.
“We understand the challenges of corporates who are starting out and stepping up on their sustainability reports. It's like navigating through a maze with numerous standards, benchmarks, and ratings. The APREA ESG Reporting Playbook aims to help members navigate their reporting journey by providing clear guidance for them to accelerate ESG practices and reporting. Together, we can contribute to a more sustainable industry and a greener future,” says Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer of City Developments Limited (CDL), who also chairs APREA's Regional Sustainability and ESG Committee.
