The Chair of APREA’s Research & Market Intelligence Committee. Head of Research & Consulting at Cushman & Wakefield Japan, providing clients with strategic research insights for their best decision making. His clients include multinational companies (MNCs) and institutional investors such as Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) and REITs, conducting consulting works to validate their real estate strategies. Prior to C&W, he was in charge of MSCI’s real estate services in Japan, as well as managing Asian clients as a member of APAC Client Coverage department. He joined the firm through the acquisition of Investment Property Databank (IPD), where he was specialized in real estate indexes and benchmarking analytics for unlisted real estate portfolios. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics from Reitaku University Graduate School. His PhD thesis studied real estate's low liquidity in a dynamic asset allocation model for a multi-asset-class portfolio and received the Yuasa Prize for its contribution to the industry from Japan Association for Real Estate Sciences (JARES). He also received a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Investment from Henley Business School at University of Reading and BSc in Real Estate from Meikai University

Prashant is a seasoned corporate strategy & management consulting professional with an experience of over 18 years. After completing his MBA(Finance) he has worked for consulting majors like Deloitte and Ernst & young, before venturing into the start-up ecosystem. He was instrumental in setting up the Research and Data operation verticals from scratch at companies like Propequity, Commonfloor.com, and Quikhomes.com. His areas of expertise include setting up business verticals in the field of business research, market intelligence, and strategic advisory. He has worked extensively in multiple sectors that includes financial services, real estate and consumer business.

He is an avid learner and is currently pursuing doctorate (PhD) along with his professional commitments. He is a well-known thought leader in the Indian Real Estate domain. His articles and thought leadership are published regularly in national newspapers, and various business journals. As an industry expert in the field of Indian real estate, he appears regularly on the various business channels and industry events. Based on his contribution towards the research and advisory work in the field of Indian real estate, he was acknowledged as the “Thought Leader of the Year-2018” by International Brand Equity.

Dr Chua Yang Liang is Head of Group Research & Strategy, where he is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and forecasting the macroeconomic environment as well as major real estate markets globally. Through his analysis of the macro and micro market trends, Dr Chua provides research advice and market intelligence to support the Group’s business decision-making and strategy formulation.

Prior to joining ARA, Dr Chua led the Southeast Asia research teams at Jones Lang LaSalle for over 10 years. His responsibilities included forecasting property markets, conducting market and development advisory, and providing commentaries to clients and the media on matters relating to property and urban policy issues. Dr Chua began his career in physical and strategic planning at the Urban Redevelopment Authority in Singapore.

Dr Chua holds a Bachelor of Science (Estate Management) (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore and a Master of City Planning and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He is also an Adjunct Researcher with the Center for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development.

James Macdonald was appointed as Head of Savills Research, China in 2007. He has the overall responsibility to ensure the successful delivery of research across mainland China, advise key clients and stakeholders of the latest market trends and future business opportunities; as well as expand the adoption of technology systems and develop thought leadership.

Mr Junnosuke Shinkawa (cc’d) is a Chief Analyst at Mitsui Sumitomo DC Asset Management and manages the largest Asian REIT equity FoF. Based in Singapore. He has been an active contributor to APREA in the past, playing as an editor of REIT related publications. He also incorporates ESG elements in his REIT investment strategy.
