Accelerating Technology in the New Normal of Real Assets Joint event by APREA, SS&C and Intralinks

Sigrid is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Real Assets Association (APREA). Based in Singapore, she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, initiatives and operations of the association across Asia Pacific.

Sigrid joined APREA’s executive team in January 2019. A recognized expert in global economic, public policy and real estate issues, Sigrid is a frequent speaker at industry events. Her commentary on commercial and residential real estate markets is also regularly featured in a wide array of global publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, New York Times and Reuters. Additionally, she has made several television appearances on financial networks and radio such as CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, National Public Radio and Channel News Asia.

Sigrid brings to APREA more than 20 years of experience in economic and real estate research, consulting and business strategy. From 2010 through 2018, she served as Managing Director of Asia Pacific Research and Advisory Services of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), where she was responsible for research, thought leadership, strategy formulation and client management. Before relocating to Singapore, she was based in Washington, D.C. and led C&W’s U.S. research group in the Mid- Atlantic region, overseeing all aspects of market research activities in the Washington, DC; Virginia; Suburban Maryland, Baltimore; and Philadelphia areas. Prior to joining C&W, Sigrid served as a Senior Economist for the National Association of Realtors (NAR). In that position, she developed NAR’s office, warehouse, retail, multi-family housing, and international research programs.

Sigrid holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Master’s degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of several civic groups including the Rotary Club of Raffles City in Singapore, where she has served in various leadership positions.

Ashish Shah is a Director with SS&C Technologies in Singapore and leads the funds services business for Real Assets across APAC.  Ashish brings close to two-and-a-half decades of finance and operations experience in private equity, real estate, infrastructure and venture capital by way of his previous roles as the CFO / COO for various funds under the J P Morgan Partners, 3i Group plc and Xander Group Inc. umbrella. He has led and managed fund set-up and administration, treasury and cash management, investor relations and reporting, audit and taxation, and compliance and regulatory monitoring, for several funds across multiple jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Jersey, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Singapore and India.  Prior to SS&C, Ashish was Partner & CFO at Iron Pillar, an India focused mid-stage tech VC fund.  Ashish is a Chartered Accountant from India and graduated from the Bombay University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance.

David Fassbender is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and Head of Southeast Asia, in addition to his role as Senior Portfolio Manager for PGIM Real Estate’s Asia Pacific value add fund series . He is a member of the Asia Pacific Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

David has 18 years of diverse experience in real estate which includes the structuring and management of real estate funds, acquisition and disposition of major assets and property development. To date he has been involved in equity and debt transactions totaling over USD 3 billion at PGIM Real Estate.

David joined PGIM Real Estate in 2002 in its closed end U.S. fund business. He subsequently worked in the portfolio management team of an open end fund, where he was responsible for North America and Asia,
before joining the Asia Pacific value add fund team in 2007. As part of his role he relocated to Singapore in 2011 where he continues to be based.

David holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Cambridge and a certificate in real estate portfolio management from the European Business School (EBS), Oestrich Winkel. He is fluent in German and English.

Greg Hyland is the Head of Capital Markets, Asia Pacific for CBRE. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for all of CBRE’s Capital Markets teams across the region.

He is accountable for the day-to-day management of all Capital Markets businesses and operations including real estate investment sales and debt and structured finance, across North Asia, South East Asia and India, and Pacific. Throughout his career, Greg has positioned himself as one Asia Pacific’s leading Capital Markets professionals and established deep relationships with some of the world’s leading real estate investors. In the past five years, he has advised on more than $10 billion of real estate transactions.

Experience

He has over 18 years of Capital Markets experience specializing in China, Singapore and Australia. Prior to joining CBRE, Greg served as Head of Capital Markets, Singapore for JLL. He also held a variety of executive roles at this firm, including Regional Director of Asia Capital Markets in Singapore and Head of Investment in Shanghai.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Property Economics) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Peter Young is a real estate investor and fund manager with a significant track record in investing in the developed markets of the UK, Western Europe, US and Australia across multiple real estate sectors. Peter has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore, and is a frequent real estate commentator on real estate and Asia capital.

Peter manages capital and co-invests alongside Family Offices, High Net Worth Individuals and Institutional Investors across debt and equity in specialist real estate sectors, including purpose built student accommodation, multifamily housing, co-living and the senior housing sector. As CEO of QIP, Peter oversees the regulated asset management business and leads the team in sourcing and managing strategic investment opportunities with primarily Asia-based clients seeking overseas alternative real estate investment.

Prior to QIP, Peter held the role of Executive Director of IP Investment Management and Investment Director of IP Global, and successfully originated in excess of USD300m in assets under management of real estate private equity and debt.

Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in Australia and has degrees in Commerce & Law.

Mr Frank Khoo joined CDL as Group Chief Investment Officer in February 2018 to source and execute new investment opportunities, and also establish a dedicated fund management platform.

With over 20 years of international experience in fund management, private equity, acquisition of real estate assets and the repositioning and restructuring of real estate businesses, Mr Khoo has an extensive network of investors, ranging from insurance companies, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and high net worth individuals across Asia and Europe.

Previously, Mr Khoo was the Global Head of Asia of AXA Investment Manager – Real Assets (AXA IM Real Assets) where he oversaw all real estate activities for AXA IM Real Assets in Asia, including investment, transaction, fund and asset management, capital raising and finance. He has also held various executive positions in Pacific Star Fund Management Pte Ltd, Guthrie GTS Ltd, Phileoland Bhd and Kestral Capital Partners.

Mr Khoo holds a Master of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, as well as Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science degrees from University of Queensland, Australia. He is also a Chartered Accountant in Singapore.

Ms. Ramchandani joined SC Capital Partners in 2019 with over 18 years of experience, including 14 in real estate, primarily focused on fund management in Asia. She is the Fund manager of the SCORE+ fund and is responsible for acquisitions, asset management, value enhancement, realization activities and the overall operation of the Fund.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ramchandani worked at Lendlease Asia from 2011-2018 as Managing Director, Head of Investment Management and Fund Manager in Asia. She was responsible for all aspects of fund management, including fund establishment, fund performance, budgetary control, implementing initiatives to maximize returns and portfolio divestment. Prior to joining Lendlease Asia, Ms. Ramchandani was a Fund Manager with ING Real Estate Select from 2007 – 2011 , where she was responsible for investing and managing third party capital in real estate funds across a range of investment strategies in the Asia Pacific region.

Ms. Ramchandani holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Honors in Economics) from Peterhouse, Cambridge University.

Oi Yee CHOO is the Chief Commercial Officer of ADDX. She is responsible for all commercial and business activities, including deals, growing relationships with issuers, institutional investors and private investors (UHNWs, HNWs).

Oi Yee has more than 20 years of capital raising and M&A advisory experience. Prior to ADDX, she was the Head of Investment Banking of UBS Singapore. Before joining UBS, she held leadership roles including the Head of Investment Banking Singapore at Morgan Stanley and led the Southeast Asia Real Estate Investment Banking franchise at Nomura Singapore. She started her career at Citigroup, covering Singapore corporate and real estate clients. (M&A ~ Merger & Acquisitions)

Between 2006 to 2008, Oi Yee was the SVP of Strategy & Development at the largest healthcare group in Asia, Parkway Holdings and created the Parkway Life REIT. She is also currently an Authority member for the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
