Keynote Presentation: 2023 Roadmap for Changing Times
In 2023, Hong Kong is set to flourish and once again be among the most vibrant cities of business and pleasure in Asia Pacific. Recent announcement to further loosen COVID-19 curbs is set to boost resumption of travel and business, as well as its standing as an international financial center. Additionally, recent easing of restrictions in China may enable a faster rebound in economic activity. This session will explore the path forward and offer actionable insights on the real assets sector that leaders should consider as they plan for 2023 and beyond.

Panel Session 1: Strategically Positioning for What’s Next
Strengthening macroeconomic headwinds caused by rising inflation, higher interest rates, among others have dampened investment activity in Hong Kong for most of 2022. However, optimism about long-term property fundamentals has improved, with the steady reopening of the city, as well as Mainland China, that could give way to unprecedented business opportunities. This session takes a closer look at core and alternative sectors in the city and The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and will cover investment strategies for 2023 and beyond.

Panel Session 2: REITs: Back on Track
The last decade has seen an aggressive expansion of Asian real estate markets, including Hong Kong. While H-REITs have been impacted by the uncertain macro backdrop, the H-REIT market is poised to benefit from the steady reopening of the city, as well as the continued strong governance and regulatory framework and increasingly diverse offerings. Aside from other REITs pioneers in the region including Japan, Australia and Singapore, relatively younger markets have also joined the scene and are showing good promise. China is a case in point, with the pilot of REITs for regular rental apartments and commercial properties expected to kick off in 2023. This session will address trends and opportunities in Hong Kong REITs.
